A big-hearted schoolboy is looking forward to donning his new kilt to take part in a fundraiser to help children in West Lothian and beyond.
Leo Blake will take part in the Kiltwalk on September 26 to raise money for the charity Action For Children.
The seven-year-old will take part in the event with his Aunty Donna O’Hanlon.
Leo said: “There are a lot of children in my school who get help from Action For Children and I want to help them, along with other kids in Scotland, to live in a home where they always have a meal and are safe.”
His Aunty Donna said the whole family is proud of Leo for wanting take part in the fundraiser.
She said: “Action For Children work at his school and they gave his mum a hamper at Christmas and other items throughout the year.
“One of his friends gets help at home through Action For Children also.
“He was on his mum’s phone and saw an ad for the kiltwalk and asked his mum about it as he loves tartan. His mum is taking him out to buy a kilt just for the occasion.”
Donna, who stays in Polbeth, continued: “There are many children at his school and across the whole of Scotland who benefit from the help of the charity – we live in a small community and I have seen for myself how valuable their contribution is to the children in my area.”
