West Lothian's Paige McAllister grabs her first goal for Scotland

Bathgate’s Paige McAllister netted her first goal for Scotland as they kicked-off their European Women’s Under-17 qualifying campaign in fine fashion with a 4-1 win over Northern Ireland.

The Celtic defender bulleted a header home in the fourth minute at the Oriam in Edinburgh as they took control of the game in the early stages.

The Bathgate Academy pupil was making her sixth appearance for her country at under-17 level, having previously pulled on the navy blue jersey for both the under-15s and under-16s.

Further goals from Robyn McCafferty and a Rosie McQuillan brace put the Scots up by four within half an hour.

Scotland are in action again today (Thursday) against Montenegro where a win would guarantee their place in the next round before finishing their group off with a clash against Italy on Sunday at Ainslie Park.
