West Lothian’s 11 East of Scotland Football League clubs have learned their fixtures for the upcoming season, which gets underway on July 17.
Blackburn United, Broxburn Athletic, and Linlithgow Rose will all play in the Premier Division, which will see four teams relegated to the First Division for the 2022/23 season.
Eight local clubs – Armadale Thistle, Bathgate Thistle, Fauldhouse United, Livingston United, Pumpherston, Stoneyburn, West Calder United, and Whitburn – are all entering the EoSFL for the first time and will start life as senior clubs in Conference X.
The top two sides in that division will be promoted to Division Two, with the rest forming Division Three next season alongside any new clubs who have an application to join the league accepted.
There are two West Lothian derby matches on the cards for the opening day of the Conference X season, with Fauldhouse United welcoming Stoneyburn to Park View, while Livingston United host Whitburn.
Bathgate Thistle are home Syngenta while it’s away games for both Pumpherston and West Calder United. They travel to Edinburgh College and Bo’ness Athletic respectively.
Armadale Thistle are idle on the first round of fixtures, with their first game of the season being at home to West Calder United on July 21.
In the top flight, Broxburn Athletic host Penicuik Athletic while Blackburn United travel to Perth to face Jeanfield Swifts and Linlithgow Rose make the trip to Fife to take on Crossgates Primrose.
Linlithgow’s first home game is July 20 against Hill of Beath Hawthorn, with Blackburn taking on Dundonald Bluebell the following day in their first home league clash of the new season.
There are derbies aplenty on New Year’s Day with Broxburn hosting Linlithgow in the Premier Division while it’s Armadale Thistle v Bathgate Thistle, Livingston United v Pumpherston, Stoneyburn v West Calder United, and Whitburn v Fauldhouse United in Conference X.
The league campaign is currently scheduled to finish on May 14 for the Premier Division sides, and a fortnight later for teams in Conference X.
