West Lothian's East of Scotland clubs receive Scottish Cup boost

West Lothian’s three East of Scotland clubs will feature in the 2020/21 Scottish Cup.

That’s after the Scottish Football Association announced the competition’s plans for the season.

There had previously been some doubt as to whether or not they’d be entered into Scotland’s most prestigious cup competition due to the revised plans enforced by the pandemic.

However, the SFA have confirmed that Blackburn United, Broxburn Athletic and Linlithgow Rose will be in the preliminary competition round one draw with ties to be played on November 28.

It will be a second season in the cup for both Blackburn ad Broxburn with the two clubs having had differing experiences last term.

United were knocked out at the first preliminary stage by Hill of Beath Hawthorn while the Brox defeated three teams from higher leagues and took 1600 fans to St Mirren for their fourth round clash that ended in a 3-0 loss.

Linlithgow Rose became the first Junior side to reach the last 16 in 2015/16.
