West Lothian primary school pupils take part in Big Build Competition

P7 pupils at St Ninian’s Primary School in Livingston created a building out of recyclable materials.

They were taking part in the Honor Goodsite’s Big Build Competition.

The pupils designed a place where teenagers could meet and relax.

It had a two storey layout with lots of windows, sections of roof terrace and a retractable roof over the sports area.

Teachers Mrs Scott and Mrs Conway said: “Taking part in this competition has allowed the children to think creatively about the environment and our impact upon it.

“It has been a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to engage with Iain Hunter, site manager from Cruden Homes (East), and has also given pupils a window into the construction industry to see the varied, exciting jobs that come with it.”
