It was a busy day for the road policing unit in Livingston as they located an alleged stolen vehicle and pulled over a driver without insurance, an MOT or a valid licence.
Officers stated that they had located a Suzuki Swift in the residential community of Stenhouse in the Scottish capital. This vehicle had been reported stolen at the end of September.
After locating the car, police organised for the motor to be uplifted as they continued their investigation into the theft of the Suzuki.

On the Road Policing Scotland Twitter channel, they shared: “#LivingstonRP located a Suzuki Swift in the Stenhouse area of Edinburgh that was reported as having been stolen towards the end of last month. The vehicle has been uplifted and further enquiries are ongoing regarding the initial theft of the vehicle.”
The Livingston officers were also able to stop a vehicle that caught their attention and they were refuelling their police car. On further inspection, they discovered that the driver was only in possession of a provisional licence and was driving unsupervised as well as with no L plates.
They found that the vehicle also had no insurance and that the car had no MOT. The driver was reported to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.
On their Twitter channel, they posted: “#LivingstonRP were fueling their police vehicle near the A899, Livingston, when this vehicle caught their eye.
- Driver was a provisional licence holder (unsupervised & no L plates)
- The vehicle/driver had no insurance
- The vehicle had no MOT
