West Lothian police launch 'murder investigation' after 35-year-old found dead

Police in West Lothian raced to a property in the early hours of this morning after the suspicious death of a 35-year-old man.

A large police presence attended Moss Side Drive, Blackburn, just past midnight this morning as local residents posted on Facebook that a body had been found in the area.

A post on the Blackburn community page said: " Due to an ongoing murder investigation in Mosside Drive people are been asked to stay away.

"This is devastating for all families involved and so many rumours going around. I'm sure after the police finish their investigation facts will be given.

"Another loss for the community."

Police Scotland confirmed that a 35-year-old man had been found dead at a flat in Mosside Drive this morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Edinburgh Live: “Around 12.50am on Saturday, 12 June, officers were called to a flat in Mosside Drive, Blackburn. Police and Ambulance attended and a 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however at this time the death is being treated as suspicious and extensive police enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances surrounding this death."
