West Lothian police investigate mystery death after body of 43-year-old found

Police in West Lothian have launched an investigation into the death of a 43-year-old man after his body was discovered in a Bathgate property.

The body was found in a property on Marjoribanks Street in Bathgate on Sunday 2 August.

Locals reported seeing police standing guard outside the address following the grim find and forensics officers were also spotted going into the property.

Police confirmed to the Daily Record that officers are now probing the "unexplained" death.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 1.15pm on Sunday, 2 August, 2020, the body of a 43-year-old man was discovered within a property on Marjoribanks Street, Bathgate.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
