West Lothian police hunt two men in silver car after attempted break-in this morning

West Lothian police are hunting for two men in a silver car after an attempted break in this morning.

Officers in West Lothian are appealing for information following a report of an attempted break-in, which took place in the early hours.

The incident happened between midnight and 12.30am on Friday, May 28, in the Highfield Crescent area of Linlithgow.

Two men were seen attempting to force entry into a property, before driving away from the scene. They were in a silver Vauxhall car, with registration AA09 UEC.

Detective Constable Samantha Plastow, from Livingston CID, said: “Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we are appealing for any witnesses or potential private CCTV footage, which may assist us in identifying the individuals involved.

“Fortunately, the men were unsuccessful in their attempts to break into the property. At this time, we’d remind the public to ensure your homes and vehicles are kept locked at all times, and that all keys are kept out of view to deter any opportunistic thieves.”

If you have any information which could assist officers, please call 101, quoting incident 0104 of 28 May. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”

Detectives are also appealing for information after a number of golf clubs were stolen from Linlithgow Golf Club last night (Thursday, May 27).

The break-in took place around 11.35pm, when two men were seen leaving the area with the stolen items in their possession.

The first man is described as being white with a stocky build, between 5ft 10 and 6ft, wearing a dark t-shirt and light shorts. The second man was white with a slim build, between 5ft 8 and 5ft 11, wearing a light top and shorts.

Anyone with any information on this break-in can contact police on 101, quoting incident 4177 of 27 May. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.
