Local at-home care provider, Home Instead Livingston, has been spreading seasonal joy and happiness across West Lothian with its annual “Be a Santa” scheme.
Thanks to donations of gifts from generous people across the region, 446 gifts were wrapped and delivered to elderly people who would otherwise have nothing to open on Christmas morning, and many of whom were spending their festive season alone this year.
Special thanks go to the Community Champions of Bathgate’s Morrisons and Tesco stores who provided gifts and wrapping, together with Williamson’s, J & R Veitch and Klondyke Garden Centres who acted as drop-off points for gifts, and the numerous community groups who helped identify those who were in need of a little Christmas cheer.

Graham Stevenson, owner of Home Instead Livingston said: “Thank you to everyone who gave so generously and helped us to collect and distribute the gifts across the community.
“Once again, our annual ‘Be a Santa’ campaign was a fabulous success and I am proud that Home Instead Livingston were able to help spread a smile of joy this festive season in our wonderful community.”
Home Instead provide care services to elderly and vulnerable people across the local area, keeping them living safely and comfortable in their own homes for as long as possible. Their services range from home help and companionship, to more specialist dementia and palliative care.
