West Lothian mum furious after bogus workman dumps her rubbish in friend's garden

A West Lothian mum was left shocked after a fake workman dumped her removals in her neighbour's garden.

Pamela Main, 32, couldn't believe her eyes when she discovered the items she had paid to be taken away were ditched just round the corner from her home in Dedridge, Livingston.

After being approached at her door this week about any removals she needed done, Pamela explained that she jumped at the offer due to the low cost.

However, after the man began acting odd when he came to collect the items, Pamela and her husband were furious to find he had ditched them just a few houses away instead of taking them to the dump, forcing the pair to collect all of their rubbish back again from their neighbour.

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Pamela said:

"So he came to my door and he asked if I needed my rubbish removed, I said I do how much are you looking for doing it, he said he would take it away and sweep the area for £30.

"I jumped at the chance because it's usually double that to get it taken away, so he went away came back about 30 mins later with another man. He chapped my door and said most of its gone we just have this little bit to take, he said it was a bigger job that he thought it was going to be as the mattresses was very heavy due to it being rainy.

"He said he would still only take £30. I asked him if I could have his number for future if I needed anything else but he said oh erm no 'but I have a Facebook page called price tree service'.

"He looked as if he was on some sort of drugs. He was slurring and he looked on something. So I gave him the money and he left."

Just a short time later, Pamela was told by her friend, Louise Hosie, that her removals had not travelled far at all, and had actually been piled up in Louise's back garden.

She added: "I was on the phone to my friend Louise Hosie who lives just round the corner from me, in the same street. She was leaving hers to come round and she burst out laughing.

"She said you're never going to believe this, your rubbish is now all at the side of my house and parts laying in other areas close by.

"I couldn't believe it. Myself and my husband went round to check, we walked round the corner and bang it was everywhere. We all picked it up and put it in the biggest pile. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, I was so angry but at the same time I couldn't believe the utter cheek of it, they have obviously just carried it from mine round the corner and left. They obviously wanted or needed the money.

"I had to knock on the doors where the rubbish was tipped and the ppl who lived there was really lovely and understood and where also shocked at the whole situation."
