West Lothian man seriously injured after attack in Blackburn as police launch appeal

West Lothian police are appealing for any witnesses and information after a young man was left seriously injured following an assault in Blackburn on Friday, November 5.

The incident took place at approximately 11:30am on Friday, November 5 on the street of Riddochhill Road in Blackburn, West Lothian.

The 23-year-old man was walking along the street in broad daylight when a man exited a Fort Transit van and attacked him.

The victim suffered injuries to both his head and body, and was rushed to St John's Hospital in Livingston for treatment.

Detective Constable David McDougall of Livingston CID said: "The victim is now at home recovering from his injuries and we are carrying out enquiries to trace the man responsible.

"He is described as being around 5ft 11 inches in height, of stocky build, he had Scottish accent and was wearing a black tracksuit top and black tracksuit bottoms. He then left the area in a Ford Transit.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the assault or anyone who has information that will assist this investigation to contact us through 101 quoting reference number 1195 of Friday, 5 November.

"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
