West Lothian man robbed by thief who jumped out of car and grabbed him

Police have launched an investigation after a man was robbed in a frightening incident in West Lothian.

A man had been walking along Mount Pleasant in the direction of South Street in Armadale at around 12.30pm on Monday (17 August) when he was targeted.

The 23-year-old victim was grabbed by a man who got out of a car and demanded money before making off with his mobile phone.

The car is said to be a black Ford Fiesta, while the suspect is described as a white man in his early 20s, around 5'8" in height with dark hair.

He was wearing a red t-shirt, light-grey tracksuit top, dark tracksuit bottoms and red trainers at the time of the incident.

Detective Constable David McDougall, of Livingston CID, said: "We're appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident, or has any information at all about it, to please contact us."

Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 1728 of 17 August, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
