West Lothian locals warned not to approach missing parrot last spotted in Broxburn

A West Lothian parrot owner is pleading with locals to look out for their beloved pet, but be careful not to spook her.

Orion is a large parrot, green and blue in colour and went missing from the Ravencraig Woods area before flying in the direction of The Knock at Bathgate Hills.

Owner Cole has warned that people should not try to approach Orion as she has been trained to be wary of strangers and could be spooked.

Instead, if the parrot is spotted, Cole is asking that people kindly stay near the parrot and call them so that they can drive to the location and collect her safely.

If you see the parrot call this number (Handout)

Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Cole, 21 said: "I've had her for three and a half years.

"She went missing yesterday at 3pm and was recently sighted in Broxburn.

"If you spot her, please contact me immediately and don't approach her because she's trained to be very wary of strangers.

"If you hear or see her please contact me as soon as you can and if you have time please stay with her and keep an eye on her movements."
