Pictures show the quiet residential street in the small town with a number of police cars, ambulances and an incident support unit lined on both sides of the street.
The nature of the incident is currently unknown but both Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service appear to be in attendance.
One resident questioned: "Does anyone know what’s going on down at Cardross never seen so many police arriving from all over."
While another said: "The paramedics can be seen standing chatting behind the closest ambulance, on the other side of the road.
Adding: "The fact there was a rapid response would’ve led me to believe it was serious."
One added: "I hope everyone is ok. Doesn’t look good though." Others showed concern and wished their neighbours well in regards to the ongoing incident.
