West Lothian horror crash as motorcyclist collides with child on bicycle

A child has been taken to hospital following a collision between his bicycle and a motorbike.

A 38-year-old man, who was also taken to hospital following the incident, collided with the cycling 12-year-old boy yesterday evening (Sunday 6 September) in the Boghall area of Bathgate, West Lothian.

The extent of their injuries following the collision are not yet known.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "At 5:20pm on Sunday 6 September, police attended a road traffic crash involving a cyclist and a motorbike at the junction of Whitelaw Drive and Marina Road in Bathgate.

"The 12-year-old male cyclist and 38-year-old male motorcyclist were taken to hospital by ambulance. Enquiries continue."

Edinburgh Live have contacted the Scottish Ambulance Service for comment.
