West Lothian Highland Games prove to be a big hit

Hundreds of people flocked to Bathgate’s Meadow Park on Saturday to celebrate the 47th annual West Lothian Highland Games.

The event brought together music, dance, sport and entertainment in a great day out for all the family.

There were pipe band music performances, Highland dancing and the heavy sports including caber tossing and hammer throwing.

Also included were children’s attractions, mini steam engines, food stalls, a parade and a hill race.

This year’s joint chieftains Alan and Barbara Wallace clearly enjoyed their day.

They are pictured with last year’s chieftain May Ross and one of the bands which performed on the day.
