The new build council homes have recently been completed and the keys handed over to tenants in central Livingston.

The new development is situated on two sites adjacent Almondvale Stadium and to the north and south of Lidl.

All the properties include a variety of houses, including 12 one bedroom four-in-a-blocks, 12 two bedroom four-in-a-blocks, 6 three bedroom terrace houses, 1 four bedroom detached home.

The inclusion of 1 one bedroomed , 2 two bedroomed and 1 three bedroomed specially wheelchair adapted semi-detached bungalows presents options for the elderly or people with mobility issues.

The housing will be known as Almondvale Stadium View, to the north of Lidl and Almondvale Stadium Road to the south.

Executive councillor for services for the community, George Paul visited the site along with staff from the councils housing service.

Cllr Paul said: “Some time ago, the council set an ambitious target to deliver 3000 new council homes from 2012-2022. A robust strategy is in place and work is well underway to deliver on this pledge with a number of initiatives underway.

“The Development is built to a high standard and provides a wide variety of house types to meet all tenant requirements. I am sure our residents will find them a good place to call home.”
