West Lothian Foodbank hands out over 20,000 meals in one month

The West Lothian Foodbank provided over 26,000 meals during the month of April.

Despite most of the foodbank premises being closed during lockdown they have been working in conjunction with The Advice Shop or Citizens Advice Bureau to get parcels to people in need.

The above organisations are taking referrals and then the food package is delivered to the clients house.

During April 2020 they provided food for 1,251 people in crisis. They were given three meals a day for seven days a week - working out at 26,271 meals over the month.

The foodbank are still asking for donations and currently need: UHT milk, curry sauce, tinned tomatoes, tinned vegetables, cereal and sponge puddings.

The Advice Shop can be contacted on 01506 283000 or Citizens Advice Bureau 01506 432977.
