A person has been rushed to hospital after a fire broke out at a property in West Lothian this morning.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the blaze on Gareloch Way in Whitburn at around 6.20am.

This morning there were a large number of police officers and firefighters on the scene, with part of the street cordoned off.

The home affected was part of a four-in-a-block building. Photos taken at the scene show a window and part of the roof badly damaged.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service say they were called to the scene at around 6.20am.
