A family from West Lothian were shocked after CCTV showed a thief making off with a mini-digger and trailer from their family farm.
The family, from Kirknewton, say they are desperate to locate the stolen digger, allegedly taken from their premises on Monday evening.
At around 4pm, a grey vehicle was seen on CCTV entering the plant hire business and appearing to attach a digger and trailer to the vehicle before driving off.
Leon Stewart who works with his father Kenny at the G Stewart Plant Hire, said that they have received a number of tip-offs to say that the suspicious vehicle and stolen digger have been spotted in the Biggar and Lanark area.
Leon Stewart told Edinburgh Live: "G Stewart Plant Hire is a family plant hire and machinery business.

"The yard had been vacated because there are always people coming and going during the day from the workshop.
"The vehicle drove into the yard, obviously it's an opportunist, we have it on CCTV going around the yard and looking at things and then spotting the digger and the trailer.
"They reversed the car, jumped out attached the trailer and were gone within two minutes."
"There have been sightings of the digger out near the Biggar and Lanark area."
"We are hoping this will become too hot to handle for them and they will end up dumping it so we can retrieve it. Too many people are looking for it now."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We have received a report around 4.20pm on Monday, 26 April, of a mini-digger and a trailer being taken from Humbie Holdings, Kirknewton. Enquiries are ongoing."
