West Lothian DJ rocks street with coronavirus lockdown dance party

A West Lothian DJ turned his street in Uphall into a disco on Saturday night

With people stuck inside due to the coronavirus lockdown over Easter weekend, DJ Keith Carlyon started an isolation party on Crossgreen Drive in Uphall.

The Daily Record reported that Keith, who runs his own business, Hi-Tek Discos, has seen a fall off in bookings due to the crisis.

With normal parties and nights out scrapped, Keith brought the disco to his street, entertaining locals with a two and a half hour dance party and light show.

Keith told the Record: "I'm usually out gigging every Friday and Saturday and I know that everyone is pulling their hair out just now so I just wanted to do something to cheer people up.

"It's been a miserable time for everyone so I just thought 'why not' and brought them out the front of the house.

"I've usually been playing from my bedroom so it was nice to just get out and bring a smile to everyone's face."

One neighbour handed Keith a glow stick to congratulate him on his performance.

The gig has gone viral online, with a video of the party being retweeted nearly 200 times on Twitter.

Chloe Martin tweeted: "I’d 100% recommended him! He was amazing loved every song!"

Another account tweeted: "Good on him. Times like this we all need a little music to cheer us up."

Keith said he would continue to play, but probably confine himself to his bedroom in future.
