Acredale House Day Centre opened on August 25, 1962 and since then has offered care and support to the community, liaising closely with families, social workers and health professionals to ensure our clients receive a high standard of care.
The relationships between staff and clients is that of a large extended family, the care, nurture and affection is apparent-and families are confident that their loved ones are well cared for by the Acredale House team.
Manager Marion Drummond said: “We provide stimulating arts and craft activities, quizzes, physical activities, musical activities, seated exercise and garden-time as standard-We often enjoy a day trip, this year we have been to the beach, to Padovan farm to feed the lambs and we also enjoy a trip down the street for our lunch!

“Clients are collected from home, transported to the centre where they enjoy breakfast followed by morning activities, a two-course lunch and then more afternoon activities before being transported home.
“We have recently secured funds from the Food Network to start an allotment in Acredale which will support our new Weekend Community Café, with subsidised foods and drinks, offering a warm comfortable atmosphere for our clients, and all members of the local community over the weekend ,in addition to the Monday-Friday we currently provide.”
