Talented teenager Ellie Fergusson has been honoured for her inspirational achievement in winning a national television dance competition.
The 14-year-old won ‘The Greatest Dancer’ this year and has received the Local Hero Award, courtesy of The Centre in Livingston and West Lothian Courier, for her outstanding performance on the BBC show.
Ellie was chosen by the management team at the mall, who supported her throughout the show, in recognition of her achievement, hard work and dedication and for being a fantastic role model for other youngsters in the community.
The Local Hero Award was established to reward outstanding people who have helped others in the community or excelled in an area they are passionate about and present them with a special framed certificate and a £100 gift card to spend in the mall.

Patrick Robbertze, centre director at The Centre, Livingston, said: “We were delighted to welcome Ellie and her mum in to the mall to receive her much-deserved Local Hero Award.
“Hearing about her time on the show and the passion and hard work that went into winning the competition was hugely inspiring and definitely worthy of winning this award.
“We wish her every success for the future and look forward to seeing her on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ later this year.”
Ellie said: “Thank you so much to The Centre for recognising me in this way.
“I’m still stunned by the support I’ve had from everyone. It means so much to me.
“It was lovely to meet The Centre management team too on the day I collected my award.”
