A West Lothian dance school has organised a fundraiser for a local mum with terminal cancer so she can enjoy her final days with her kids ticking off her bucket list.
LFSOD, situated in Blackburn, West Lothian, will be holding a two hour danceathon on Sunday September 26 in order to raise money for East Whitburn mum Rachel Kennedy, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in November 2020.
Dance teacher, and owner of the school Louise, has been speaking to Edinburgh Live about why her group of young dancers are taking part in this fundraiser.
Louise, 47, said: "We are doing a sponsored dance in class, and a danceathon in Blackburn to raise funds to fulfil Rachel's bucket list and make fabulous memories with her beautiful family that she can cherish forever.
"We always take part in a fundraiser each year, and have done so in the 29 years this school has been running."

The fundraiser was originally for private immunotherapy for Rachel, but when she was told that her cancer had spread rapidly and aggressively, the money will instead be going to a fund to help Rachel and her two children, Jude, four, and Lewis, who is six.
Louise continued: "We are not only doing this for Rachel and her family, but to also spread awareness on cervical cancer, and to stress to those women over 25 to get their smear tests, and #don'tfearthesmear.
"We are all looking forward to raising as much money as we can, and to help Rachel have the best time ever with the precious time she has left with her family."

One dancer said: "I am really looking forward to the danceathon, and raising money for Rachel.
"There needs to be more awareness surrounding cervical cancer, and we will aim to do as much as we can for that side of things too."
