West Lothian dad's eye-popping light show returns for Halloween

An eye-popping light display returns to West Lothian this Halloween.

Derek Campbell is ready to hit the switch on his spectacular spooky display at his home in Blackridge from tonight (Friday).

His home at Leishman Court will be transformed into a haunted house that promises to be out of this world.

The show returns for a second year and will raise money for the Zak Scott Braveheart Foundation, a charity Derek picked after his baby son Cruz was born with a heart condition.

Derek also organised a festive light show, complete with a snow machine and disco lights at Christmas and raised £4000 for River kids.

He said: “The light show we have picked some catchy songs to keep everyone entertained like last year.

“We have been working on this year’s Halloween show since January and this year we are raising money for a different charity due to a very personal reason.”

Derek’s son Cruz underwent open heart surgery at the end of September and is doing well.

He said he wanted to raise cash for the Zak Scott Braveheart Foundation, named after Scottish teenager Zak, who passed away in 2011, two weeks before his 15th birthday after being diagnosed with a congenital heart condition.

Derek said the foundation does an “amazing job” in fulfilling his wish of helping children who have to undergo heart surgery.
