Livingston cricketer Jack Jarvis is set to take on the best in the world as Scotland begin their Under-19 Cricket World Cup campaign on Friday.
The Scots qualified for the tournament in the West Indies at the last minute after New Zealand had pulled out. Jarvis had been part of the squad that fell just short of reaching the event outright as they fell to defeat against Ireland in the European Qualifying tournament.
The former Livingston Cricket Club youngster was in fine form in the warm-ups as he tallied 33 in Scotland’s emphatic 107-run victory over Uganda.
The young Scots hit 219/9 in their 50 overs before bowling out their opponents for 112.
Scotland begin their campaign against Sri Lanka in Guyana on January 14 before taking on the hosts in Saint Kitts and Nevis three days later.
Their final Group D fixture is against Australia on January 19, also in Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The top two teams in each of the four groups qualify for the quarter-finals, with the remaining teams playing in Plate League play-offs to determine final positions in the competition.
