West Lothian chippy forced to apologise after serving up a 'shockingly raw' chicken wrap

A West Lothian chip shop has been forced to apologise after they served a customer a wrap full of raw chicken.

Mamma Mia in Livingston said they are "begging for forgiveness" after a customer discovered the frightful meat on Thursday night.

After making an order from the popular takeaway, the customer began to tuck into his chicken wrap before realising the chicken was almost still clucking.

In a post online, the food was branded "disgusting", with many others equally as shocked at how the food could have been so severely undercooked.

However, the Mamma Mia takeaway were quick to apologise for the incident and have stated that there are now "new procedures in place" to avoid it from happening again.

In a public apology, they said:

"The situation that happened in our shop last night with the raw chicken wrap should have never taken place under any circumstances. We are deeply apologetic and thankful that the undercooked chicken was not consumed.

"We are also very thankful for the customer making us aware of what has happened and we promise for that not to happen again ,with new procedures in place to make sure all the stuff going out is being cooked properly

"We work very hard to bring the best for people we have learned from our mistake and we are begging for forgiveness as there is always room for improvement, this obviously was not done on purpose, we have made a mistake and we are trying to fix it."
