A charity that has been helping to support its local community during the pandemic have struck it lucky with the National Lottery.
Craigsfarm Community Hub have received £60,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund to continue to help people in Craigshill in Livingston by providing a community café and meeting facilities for groups and classes to meet.
Craigsfarm Community Development Project already have a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund to build the new Craigsfarm Community Hub that opened in June 2018.
This additional money will cover costs associated with their response to the current crisis.
Kate Storrow, Hub manager at Craigsfarm Community Hub said: “In these most difficult of times for everyone, to receive this additional funding has meant so much to us here at the Hub.
“We have just recently re-opened our community café and to have this lifeline funding means we can plan for the future with more confidence.”
Neil Ritch, Scotland director, The National Lottery Community Fund, said in these uncertain times, its priority is to ensure National Lottery money continues to flow to charities, voluntary sector organisations and grassroots groups.
He added: “I would like to congratulate Craigsfarm Community Hub on the work they are doing.
“Theirs is an important project that will support people now during the current crisis, and in the future when they can physically come back together to make great things happen in their community.”
