West Lothian charity gets cash boost to provide kids with warm winter coats

A charity that hands out clothes to struggling families has been handed a welcome cash boost.

The school Bank West Lothian has been given the donation from Taylor Wimpey to continue its great work providing school uniforms and essentials to anyone in need.

The donation was made by Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, through the housebuilder’s Back to School summer donations.

This time round the money will be used to boost its efforts to provide winter coats to children who need them.

The School Bank West Lothian is a volunteer-led group aiming to improve the lives of children in West Lothian experiencing financial hardship. Each year they distribute new school uniform and school items to hundreds of families across the local area. This latest donation from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland provides a welcome boost to provide new warm winter coats to children.

Collette Moran, project manager for The School Bank West Lothian said: “This latest donation from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland provides us with a welcome boost to provide warm winter coats for children to wear to school and we are delighted they contacted us with news of their donation.”

Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland added: “We have been part of various local communities across West Lothian for many years now, and once again we welcome this opportunity to involved in such an important local charity that is working hard right across the region.

“Being able to work with local charities and organisations where we build new homes means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in our local communities.”
