West Lothian car driven into BMW before being torched by men in 'dark clothing'

Police in West Lothian have launched an urgent appeal for information after a car was driven into another vehicle before being set alight.

Officers in Livingston have urged anyone who may have dashcam footage of the unusual incident to get in touch after the blue Hyundai Tucson was driven into a black BMW 1 series parked outside a home.

Crashing into the luxury car on Martin Brae at around 9pm on Monday, December 19, officers stated that the Hyundai was then torched at the scene.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service had raced to the scene alongside police, where the blaze was extinguished. The Hyundai was extensively damaged, while the BMW suffered more minimal damage.

Two men, both described as being in their 20s and dressed in dark clothing, were seen leaving the street in the direction of Kestrel Way after the incident.

“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3402 of 19 December.”
