West Lothian beauty queen hopes to be the face of UK at international competition

A West Lothian beauty queen is looking for the support of local people to help her represent the UK in an international competition.

Jade Manson (23), from Blackridge is the current Miss Royal West Lothian and will be competing in the Royal UK Miss Pageant with the hopes of winning a chance of representing the United Kingdom at Internationals in 2022.

She is a home carer and is also studying Beauty Therapy at West Lothian College and preparing for my finals in July.

Jade is also raising money for Smile Counselling and hopes people in West Lothian will get behind her.

She told The Courier: “For my chosen platform throughout my journey with Royal UK Miss I am raising funds and awareness for Smile Counselling.

“Smile Counselling is a mental health organisation that helps young people aged 11 to 24 living in west Lothian for free within a one-to-one or group session. “Their goal is to help young people feel supported, motivated and inspired leading to self-determination and empowerment to make their own positive choices.

“You can follow my pageant journey on Facebook and help me raise awareness for this amazing mental health organisation @Jade Manson – Miss Royal West Lothian 2020.”

Jade said Royal UK Miss pageant is not your typical pageant, as there is no scoring on beauty or physical attributes and girls and women can compete at any age, size or marital status.

Each finalist is encouraged to get involved in their community and have the option to support a charity of their choice.

She continued: “The unique rounds promote life skills such as public speaking, formal interview techniques and resume writing. The systems promotes a sisterhood and family feel with everyone being so supportive of one another.”

The five winners of the UK competition win a trip to the USA to compete for the prestigious Royal International Miss Pageant, which sees girls from across the world competing alongside one another for the international crowns, a $15,000 prize package and a chance to take their charity work worldwide.

Jaded added: “I am on the lookout for sponsors to help me in my journey and I would love to support my local community. If you would like to support me or have an event I could help with, please contact: jademanson1@hotmail.com.”
