West Lothian bands to take over this year's Gig in the Goil

The festival Gig in the Goil has announced their Showcase Stage and a number of West Lothian acts will be on show.

The indoor event in May in Lochgoilhead is well known for its promotion of upcoming artists from across Scotland.

And this year local bands Black Dog Days, Fraser McLean, Luke La Volpe, Mark Sharp & the Bicycle Thieves and Megan Black make up a very strong West Lothian contingent.

Event manager, Ross Coutts, said organisers are looking forward to a successful and busy event.

And he said the West Lothian acts looks set to make a big impression on the festival’s audience.

He added: “We are delighted to secure such a strong line-up. Luke & Mark are tipped for huge things at the moment with sell-out shows and festival appearances across Scotland, so we’re delighted to welcome them back to GITG as headliners.”

The stage showcases the hottest unsigned artists breaking through in the music scene.

Swim School, Luna the Professor, Wrest, Fabric Bear, Liimo & Anna Sweeney some of the other acts set to appear in May.

The latest artists – who also include Rebekah Kirk, Gary Ovens, Black Dog Days, Megan Black & The Roov making their Lochgoilhead return – join a host of bands already confirmed.

These include main stage headliners Peat & Diesel, Trail West, Heron Valley & Face the West.

Onsite accommodation is already full, and organisers are predicting another sell-out event for the fifth consecutive year.

Adult weekend tickets are available from just £40.

Youths tickets are priced from £15 and children just £5) .

They are available on Skiddle or TicketWeb.
