West Lothian athletes are back on track at Scottish Athletics Open Series

A number of Livingston Athletic Club athletes were back on track at the weekend and competing in the Scottish Athletics 4J Studies Open Series.

To ensure the safety of athletes and officials, a number of measures were in place including a reduced numbers in each race and the 800m being run entirely in lanes.

On Saturday, Andrew McGill took part in an 800m race finishing in 2:01.80, Carly Smith finished her 800m in 2:20.24 and Kirsten Bowie ran an 8.40 in the 60m.

Ella Watson finished her 60m in 8.26, beating her personal best for the distance which is normally contested indoors.

In the field events, Moray Butler also secured a new personal best with 4.37m in the long jump.

The following day, Kirsten Bowie was back in action finishing her 150m in 21.10. Kirsten Morris and Moray Butler also took part in the 150m, both obtaining personal bests of 22.59 and 21.57 respectively.

Also on the track, Ricky Arthurs clocked 53.56 in the 400m and Fraser Morris crossed the line in the 800m in a time of 2:10:20.
