West Lothian artists congratulate The Snuts on making number one

The Snuts have made it to number one with their debut album Whitburn Loopy.

They beat off stiff competition from Demi Lovato to be named number one album in the official charts on Friday.

Taking to their Instagram page, the boys kept it short by posting a picture of their album along with their number one award and a bottle of Buckfast, and wrote: “Whitburn f****n loopy #1.

They had backing from the burgeoning list of artists who have came off the West Lothian production line in recent years.

Lewis Capaldi said online: "I thought I would ask all of you out there to please make sure you go and buy, download and stream The Snuts brand new album W.L. which came out last Friday.

“It’s so close to number one and it’s the boys against Demi Lovato.

“Listen, we all love Demi Lovato but sometimes we have to make sacrifices. So go out there and get the record.”

Lovato fans then bombarded Capldi online with abuse for daring to go against their hero.

Meanwhile, other acts lined up to pay tribute to The Snuts after the announcement was made that they hit number one.

Luke La Volpe said: “The West Lothian take over continues. Class boys.”

Mark Sharp and the Bicycle Thieves said: “Whitburn loopy number one, ya f****g bams!! You little beauties ye.”
