A man and a woman have been rushed to hospital after a serious crash in West Lothian.

The pair were attended to by emergency services after their car collided with a lorry on the A71, which runs through the centre of Livingston.

Police had raced to the scene at around 12.30pm on Tuesday (December 7), with officers closing off the section of Bankton Road between the Lizzie Bryce and Newpark roundabout.

An emergency response was still present at the scene at 5pm on Tuesday afternoon, with the road remaining closed until further notice.
