The future is looking good for a West Lothian schoolgirl who is making a name for herself on the catwalk.
Despite being just five years old, Sophia Haggarty has already graced the catwalk at New York fashion week and in London.
But the Carmondean Primary School pupil is not just a pretty face. She’s also raised over £5000 for charity in the last year and donated toys to the Sick Kids hospital in Edinburgh.
She’s also appeared in River City and is the current tiny Miss Galaxy Edinburgh.
Her mum Bernadette says the whole family are extremely proud of Sophia and what she has achieved.
He said: “She has always been a happy, confident and curious child.
“I had originally put her into dancing which she was good at however I was advised she would be good at acting and musical theatre as she was very good with expressions and getting into character.
“I did that but when she was alone on stage I noticed she was ever so slightly shy. I looked at ways around this and how I could bring her out some of that confidence tucked inside.
“I decided to put her into a pageant to try.
“Since that first pageant she’s came right out of her shell and loves to be on stage and dressed up. We travel all over the UK to take part in charity pageants and currently she holds her regional title of Tiny Miss Galaxy Edinburgh.
“Part of her pageantry work involves charity work and we have undertaken so many events to raise funds for different charities etc.
“We have also done online fundraising, bucket collections, online raffles and auctions as well to raise funds. We have also tried to help local charities as well by donating goods, dropping off meals and bag packs where can.”
Bernadette said her daughter is already in demand and a bright future is certain.
She continued: “Sophia has also been signed with a TV casting agency real people casting. She’s appeared on TV twice and currently waiting to film a TV advert. “She’s registered with Models Direct and attends as many casting calls as I can take her to.
“She’s walked London Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2019 at age four, February she walked in New York Fashion Week for three different designers and then back to London Fashion Week to walk with three designers again.
“She’s been invited back to New York Fashion week in September to walk with four designers which will be before her sixth birthday!”
