West Kensington stabbing: 15-year-old charged with knife murder in London

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a teenager who was stabbed to death in west London.

Ayub Hassan, 17, was found with stab wounds to the chest near West Kensington tube station on Thursday afternoon.

Police were called to Lanfrey Place at 2.14pm and Mr Hassan was taken to hospital but later died.

The teenager charged with his murder was due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning.

Three other males were arrested as part of the police investigation, Scotland Yard said.

A 17-year-old who was held on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further inquiries.

An 18-year-old and a 15-year-old have been released with no further action.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place on Sunday.

A family friend earlier paid tribute to Ayub as a "kind and handsome" boy with ambitions of becoming a barrister.

His mother Siraad Aden told the Evening Standard: "He was lovely, he looked after me.

"He wasn't only a son, he was my best friend."

Ayub’s family friend Amina Osman said the fatal attack was “the fourth attempt on his life”.

She said he had previously been found unconscious in a park, run over and stabbed on another occasion.

Ayub was the sixth teenager to be stabbed to death in London so far this year.
