West Indies cricket legend Chris Gayle tucks into curry in Newcastle

Rihanna isn't the only celeb to be spotted out and about as West Indies took on Sri Lanka in the Cricket World Cup.

Much to everyone's surprise, to watch the two teams in action at Durham Emirates Riverside ground.

She was there to cheer on West Indies, having gone to school with batsman Carlos Braithwaite but people were stunned by her appearance, with some great reactions from Chester-le-Street residents.

One of the other Windies players in action on Monday, as Sri Lanka took victory by 23 runs, was the country's cricket legend Chris Gayle.

Gayle hit a massive six as Rihanna looked on on a warm and sunny afternoon in County Durham but then Chris Gayle then top-edged a shot high up in the air which was well caught.

Take a look inside new Indian street food restaurant My Delhi

The 39 year old, who has hit a total of 302 sixes, has been making the most of his time in the North East, and hit on the heels of the full Sri Lankan team heading to the restaurant last week, Chris turned up at new Newcastle Indian haunt My Delhi on Sunday evening.

He tucked into some hearty Indian food before posing with staff.
