Police cordoned off an east London DLR station after a man was stabbed in broad daylight.

The victim was knifed outside West India Quay DLR station at around 1.50pm.

Officers were collecting CCTV evidence and scouring the area for clues after the attack on Tuesday.

The Limehouse Link Tunnel was also closed westbound around the same time following an incident close to the entrance of the station. It is not yet known whether the two incidents are linked but the tunnel has reopened.

A British Transport Police statement said: “A man has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

“The station is currently closed while specialist officers conduct enquiries.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: We were called at 1.52pm today to reports of a stabbing outside West India Quay DLR station.

‘We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, and an incident response officer.

‘A man was treated at the scene and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.’
