West Hollywood EDITION opening: Lenny Kravitz, Janelle Monae and Diplo celebrate Ian Schrager’s latest hotel offering

Some of the biggest names in fashion and music stepped out last night in Los Angeles for the unveiling of hotelier and Studio 54 co-founder Ian Schrager’s latest hotel offering, the West Hollywood EDITION.

The hotel, designed in collaboration with British architect John Pawson, is Schrager’s first west coast property and officially opened with a VIP dinner curated by Michelin-starred chef John Fraser followed by a rooftop party DJed by Sophie Tucker.

There was also a late-night set headlined by disco legend and Studio 54 alumni Chaka Khan.

The 66-year-old 'Ain’t Nobody' singer performed her classic hits to a starstruck crowd before legendary DJ Harvey took over the stage for an all-night set that took place in the hotel’s new nightclub, Sunset.

Other attendees included songstress Janelle Monae, DJs Diplo and Samantha Ronson, fashion designer Christian Cowan, actor Marlon Wayans and rock star Lenny Kravitz.

The event followed a splashy soft launch on Sunset Boulevard that lured the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Paris Hilton, Winnie Harlow and a host of other A-List celebrities earlier this month.

In addition to the restaurant and club, the brand new Sunset Strip hotel also features 140 guestrooms, 48 suites and two penthouses, along with a wellness-led spa, rooftop pool and 20 private residences.
