Angelo Ogbonna is a doubt for West Ham's Premier League opener at Newcastle, though David Moyes hopes to take a full squad to St. James' Park on Sunday.
The Italian defender sustained a hamstring injury during a pre-season game at Celtic but has returned to training ahead of the Hammers’ first game of the season.
Manuel Lanzini has also been struggling with a groin injury but should be given the all clear to feature on Sunday if called upon.
Speaking on Friday, Moyes said: " Angelo Ogbonna has the hamstring injury he picked up against Celtic, he is back in some sort of training. Lanzini has had a little bit of a groin problem.
"We’re hoping he will be okay as he is back in around it. In the main, we’ve got knocks and niggles but hopefully everybody will be okay."
