West Ham vs Southampton
Premier League 2018-19
Venue: London Stadium
Date: Saturday, May 4, 2019
Kick-off: 3pm BST
West Ham host Southampton in their final home game of the 2018-19 Premier League season on Saturday.
The Hammers are back in east London after becoming the first side to beat Tottenham at their new stadium last time out.
It was their first win on the road in 2019 with Manuel Pellegrini’s side still hoping to secure a top 10 finish.
Southampton meanwhile travel to the capital having secured their Premier League status for another year after last week’s 3-3 draw with Bournemouth.
West Ham vs Southampton team news and predicted line-ups
West Ham have received a triple midfield injury boost ahead of their final home game of the season.
Samir Nasri and Manuel Lanzini, who missed the win at Tottenham last weekend, have been passed fit to face Saints.
And there could also be a return to the bench for Colombia international Carlos Sanchez, who has been sidelined since September with a long-term knee injury.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini said: "Maybe for the first time since the first game this season, we have options.
Andriy Yarmolenko and Andy Carroll are the only injury absentees.
Southampton defender Jannik Vestergaard will not feature again this season, manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed
The Denmark international has miss the past three matches because of a groin problem.
"Jannik Vestergaard, the season is over because he has a small issue and that means we must change the team a little bit, like in the last game," Hasenhuttl said at a press conference reported by the club.
Hasenhuttl is also without Maya Yoshida, who remains unavailable following illness. "We have a few players who show at the moment they want to play in the last two games," the Saints boss said.
"They have not played too much in recent weeks, but they have a chance now to play from the beginning and show up in the training sessions."
West Ham XI: Fabianski, Fredericks, Balbuena, Diop, Masuaku, Rice, Antonio, Noble, Snodgrass, Anderson, Perez
Southampton XI: Gunn, Valery, Bednarek, Stephens, Bertrand, Ward-Prowse, Romelu, Højbjerg, Long, Ings, Redmond
Score prediction: West Ham 3-2 Southampton
With the pressure off both sides, Saturday should provide an entertaining clash between these two but the Hammers will be determined to deliver one more home win to their fans.
