West Ham vs Manchester City: Prediction, kick off time today, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results today

Manchester City today begin yet another Premier League title defence, though this time at a West Ham side who almost scuppered their last march to the top prize in English football.

In May, David Moyes’ side raced into a two-goal lead back in May before Pep Guardiola’s team fought back, although City have added a certain Erling Haaland into the mix since.

The prospect of marking Haaland was something Mark Noble joked about as he prepared to bid farewell to his playing days and it will be fascinating how the Norwegian does on his debut in the Premier League.

Having struggled to make much of an impact in the Community Shield, West Ham will be the first ones to have a look at him in this context. Last season, the London Stadium became something of a fortress for Moyes and the good memories there built along their European adventure will certainly need to be drawn upon this time around.

West Ham vs Manchester City prediction

If there’s one criticism of Guardiola at City, it’s the fact his team tend to start League campaigns relatively slowly. West Ham, though missing their big signings, have already proven capable of being able to take advantage, so a draw seems a fair result.

1-1  draw.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

West Ham wins: 38

Draws: 19

Man City wins: 60
