West Ham vs Manchester City: Kick-off time, early team news and how to follow Carabao Cup clash

West Ham are back in action on Wednesday evening when they host Manchester City in the Carabao Cup fourth-round at the London Stadium.

The Hammers saw off Manchester United at Old Trafford thanks to a Manuel Lanzini goal and now face the daunting task of taking on the reigning champions City.

Pep Guardiola's men not only won the trophy last season but have done so four times in a row and have gone 20 ties unbeaten in the competition stretching back to October 26, 2016.

The Hammers go into the match in fine form after three wins in eight days and despite Aaron Cresswell's insistence that the club is capable of competing on all fronts, the Carabao Cup will understandably be a low priority for Moyes. The manager picked a much changed XI for the third-round clash with Manchester United and is expected to make a number of changes to take on City.

Ahead of the match football.london has put together everything you need to know about the clash.

Date, kick-off time and venue

The match will kick-off at 7:45pm on Wednesday, October 27, at the London Stadium. The match is a sell-out with 60,000 supports set to attend.

There will be no extra-time in the Carabao Cup until the semi-final stages meaning if the tie is a draw after 90 minutes the game will head straight into a penalty shoot-out.

How to follow West Ham vs Man City

The match will not be broadcast live in the UK. Radio coverage will be available on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra. Highlights will be broadcast on Quest TV at 10:30pm.

As always football.london will have a live blog running throughout the afternoon and evening with our West Ham reporter Tom Clark in attendance at the London Stadium.

Early West Ham vs Man City team news

Vladimir Coufal is unlikely to be risked following a groin injury but Ryan Fredericks is set for a start following his own recent injury issues. Club captain Mark Noble and Arthur Masuaku will be pushing for starts as Moyes looks to spread the workload across his squad.

Guardiola has admitted he will not field quite as young a team as he did in the third-round against Wycombe but confirmed he will include some youngsters for the trip to West Ham.

"Some of them but less than against Wycombe because in that moment we had injured players,” he told City’s official website.

"Some of them are going to play, yes," he added.
