West Ham vs Man City team news and predicted line-ups
Pellegrini heads into the new season with almost a complete clean bill of health.
Captain Mark Noble misses out with a dead leg, but goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is fit after a groin injury scare. New signings Fornals and Haller should both make their competitive debuts.
As for City, Benjamin Mendy (knee) is out along with Ilkay Gundogan.
Leroy Sane suffered ACL damage against Liverpool in the Community Shield and is expected to miss six or seven months, but Aymeric Laporte and Riyad Mahrez are both available.
Sergio Aguero could start up front having been rested at Wembley, especially with Sane set to miss out. £60million signing Joao Cancelo is not yet being considered for selection.
Possible West Ham XI: Fabianski, Fredericks, Diop, Balbuena, Cresswell, Rice, Wilshere, Anderson, Lanzini, Fornals, Haller
Possible Man City XI: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko, Rodri, De Buryne, David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Aguero, Sterling
Prediction: West Ham 1-3 Man City
While West Ham will be confident of causing City problems in their first game of the season, it is difficult to look beyond the champions here.
City won 32 of their 38 league games last season, and should pick up three points - but the Hammers will fancy a goal or two.
