West Ham v Liverpool odds, prediction and a man hungry for goals tipped to score first

Premier League match number 24, with 22 victories already safely in the bank.

Can this be win number 23?

We asked our Liverpool FC correspondent Paul Gorst whether David Moyes can take a knife to a gunfight and this time come out on top.

Spoiler alert .... he doesn't.

Win, lose or draw?

Another game, another win for the Reds. The Hammers are in freefall, kept out the relegation zone by goal difference only. Last year's fixture was a disappointing draw, but I can't see David Moyes' men securing a similar result this time around. Away win. 3/10 is short with thepools.com, but it's buying money.

Who's a good bet for 1st scorer?

No Sadio Mane for this one, so Divock Origi may just deputise for the Senegal speedster down the left side of Liverpool's attack. I think the opening goal will come from the other side though.

Mohamed Salah is on 14 goals for the season and looked hungry for his 15th in the recent win at Wolves.

I expect him to be Liverpool's chief threat at West Ham. So do the bookies. Thepools.com have him 3/1 favourite to open the scoring and 17/20 to score at any time.

Who's on pens?

That'll be Mo Salah. Expect him to step up if the Reds are given a spot kick in the capital.

Will Liverpool keep a clean sheet?

With just one goal in their last four games across all competitions the shot-shy Hammers have gone cold in front of opposition goalkeepers since they swatted Bournemouth aside with a 4-0 win on New Year's Day.

Liverpool have conceded just the one goal in eight games since the 5-2 hammering of Everton back on December 4.

With Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Alisson Becker all to return, I expect the Reds to shut out their hosts.

Both Teams To Score 'No' is 17/20.

Yellow card?

Liverpool-born Aaron Cresswell has picked up as many as six yellow cards so far this season and with Mohamed Salah expected to be flying past him at the London Stadium, don't rule out a seventh for the boyhood Reds fan.
