West Ham transfer stance on reported Manchester United target Issa Diop

West Ham United have told Manchester United that their prized centre-back Issa Diop is not for sale this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to add a talented, commanding centre-back to his ranks this summer after United's dismal end to the season saw his team concede 10 goals in the final five games.

The summer transfer window has only been open for a few weeks but United have already been linked with a long list of names, most notably Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt, Leicester City's Harry Maguire and Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli.

However, it appears that United will struggle to land any of those targets as they can't compete with teams offering Champions League football and are resistant of paying the extortionate fees demanded.

As a result United have been linked with several cheaper alternatives, with West Ham's Diop being the latest name to be touted.

The 22-year-old Frenchman enjoyed a fine debut season in the Premier League after his £22million move from Toulouse, featuring 38 times in all competitions.

United have been linked with a £45million move for the defender but the Hammers aren't in any hurry to see Diop leave and, according to the Evening Standard , have 'made it clear he will not be leaving.'
