West Ham transfer news: Ben Brereton Diaz on January radar as David Moyes eyes Jesse Lingard return this month

West Ham boss David Moyes knows exactly what he wants in the transfer market this month, but whether he can get it is another matter altogether.

The Hammers are in need of cover in defence and, as has been the case for almost a year now, a striker to offer cover and competition for Michail Antonio.

Blackburn sensation Ben Brereton Diaz is being monitored by a number of clubs and West Ham are keeping an eager eye on his situation, while Moyes remains keen on exploring a return for Jesse Lingard from Manchester United this month.

Lingard shone on loan in east London last season but has not managed to break into the United side since his return.

Moyes is also looking to bring in further options at the back following injuries to Angelo Ogbonna, Kurt Zouma and Aaron Cresswell.

A left-footed central defender is a priority while a left-back would be welcome following the complications of Cressswell's injury.
