West Ham transfer news: Andy Carroll, Samir Nasri and Adrian released as summer clear-out begins

Andy Carroll, Samir Nasri and Adrian will leave West Ham when their contracts expire in late June, the Premier League club have confirmed.

Carroll, who joined West Ham on loan from Liverpool in August 2012 before making his move to east London permanent in May 2013, made over 100 appearances for the club, playing at both Upton Park and the Olympic Stadium.

Injuries plagued the forward’s time at the Hammers and he only completed more than 20 league games twice during his seven seasons at the club.

The trio will now be able to speak to any club and negotiate terms for a contract to begin in July.

Adrian, who was replaced as first-choice goalkeeper by Lukasz Fabianski, made all of his five West Ham appearances in cup competitions.

After training with the club for several months, Nasri was signed by Manuel Pellegrini in January but did not win a contract extension after a short run in the first team.

The Premier League club also revealed Spanish forward Toni Matinez will leave.

Joint-chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold thanked Carroll and Adrian “loyalty and commitment” to the club in a statement.

“Andy and Adrian have both been great servants to West Ham United throughout their time at the Club and we thank them for their loyalty and commitment to the Claret and Blue cause,” they said.

“Both have provided us and our fellow supporters with some unforgettable moments, whether they were sensational scissor kicks and unstoppable headers in Andy’s case, or penalty saves and goals in Adrian’s.

“They can both be assured of warm welcomes whenever they return to London Stadium and we wish them, as well as Samir Nasri and the young players whose contracts are up this summer, the very best for their future careers.”

Wednesday’s announcement also confirmed that midfielders Moses Makasi and Noha Sylvestre, defenders Vashon Neufville and Josh Pask will also depart, as will scholars Mason Barrett, Kevin Dalipi, Jay Mingi and Odysseas Spyridis.
